Southern Literature Reading Challenge

I really need to stop finding such intriguing challenges! But, I just couldn't resist this one and I know I can cross-over with The Classics challenge as well with this.  There are four different levels on this one:
Level 1--C'mon in the house! Read 1 book.
Level 2--Pull up a seat and stay a while! Read 2 books
Level 3--Have a glass of sweet iced tea, honey. Read 3 books
Level 4--Y'all come back now, y'hear! Read 4 books

I'm choosing level four with the following titles:
A Good Man Is Hard To Find and Other Stories By Flannery O'Connor
The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter By Carson McCullers
Bastard Out Of Carolina By Dorothy Allison
Daughters of the Dust by Julie Dash

(All of which have been sitting on my shelf just waiting for me to get motivated!)

  1. Ha ha... that's great that you took up another challenge. I might, not sure. I already picked out a few books I am hoping to read for your book challenge this year.
Will begin as soon as these exams are over in a month :/

Hope all is well and Happy reading =D

  2. Hello, I am stopping over on the midweek mingle blog hop and saw your reading challenge books, I am excited to see what you think of Daughters of the Dust, I have heard it is supposed to be very good but I am trying to catch up on just what is in my house already without buying new books. I have joined the Mystery & Suspense book challenge over at Book Chick City as well, I hope she has her report link up soon, I have already finished my first one of the year. Maybe I should take on another challenge as well. I am now a new follower and looking forward to your reviews.

  3. I wish I had time for this challange, oh well, first time follower, would love a follow back @ lessonsfromivy.com

  4. Following you from "Catch a Wave Wednesday"! Please stop by and follow me back.

  5. I need to read more Flannery O'Connor; I enjoyed the few stories of hers that I read in school. I know I've read The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, but I can't remember a thing about it. I have Bastard Out of Carolina in my unread stacks too, so I have a feeling that will be one of my books for the challenge.

    Thanks for signing up!
