Book Reviews Coming Soon

One of my few New Year's Resoulutions is to read more.  I've always had a passion for books. As a young girl, it all began with Nancy Drew and then as a teenager I couldn't wait for the next Stephen King or John Saul novel.  So it only made sense that I would eventually pursue a Master's degree in English Literature.  My primary focus was on Women and Minority Literature.  However, once my son was diagnosed with Autism almost ten years ago, I left behind my academic pursuits to be a stay at home mom and meet his ever changing needs.  I have to admit, I don't miss teaching college students and grading the piles of research papers. However, I do miss a good book discussion!  Anyway, I recently discovered an opportunity to offer book reviews here on my blog in exchange for free books...what a deal!

I'll be reviewing a wide variety of genres including, mystery/thrillers, biography/memoirs, historical fiction, Women's fiction, Inspirational,  select Non-fiction, Young Adult/Children's Literature,  and even an occasional cook book! Romance novels per se  have never been an interest of mine...but who knows!  And I hope to even toss in a few of my favorite classics as well. I'll also be hosting Book Tours and Giveaways.   At the moment, I'm reading Hope Burned by Canadian author, Brent LaPorte and will be posting a review next week.
I also just received in the mail, The Radleys by Bristih author, Matt Haig.  Both books are very different from what I typically read, but intriquing nonetheless.  I hope you'll join me in my journey through books this coming year!

~Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

  1. Always interested in books...love to read them everyday but wish I had more time to do that. Am off this week and loading up my Kindle....I checked out the review on Hope Burned and it was intense...especially since it is about child abuse. Would be interested in your review....

I have always been an avid reader though I usually fail to jot anything down about what I read - I always start a book journal and then by June it's just falls to the wayside!

  9. I love the look of your blog, it feels like a comfy place to sit a spell! I too used to love reading John Saul and Stephen King but have not read their books for years! Actually, even though I love to read, I seem to spend too much time on the computer.
Reading more, and blog surfing less, is on my Goal List for 2011!
